Famous ski and snowboard manufacturer files for bankruptcy

From Ski Resort to Bankruptcy: Inside the Rise and Fall of Antero GmbH

In 2009, Antero GmbH was founded with the goal of building a new ski and snowboard production facility for premium-class products in Fürnitz. However, due to the pandemic and its consequences, retail sales figures fell short, leading to over-indebtedness. The company currently has only three employees and offers an online platform for individual snowboards, winter sports items, textiles, a community, entertainment features, and current information for fans of the board sports scene.

Bankruptcy proceedings have been opened at the Klagenfurt Regional Court over Antero GmbH’s assets. The liabilities amount to 2.274 million euros. Despite this setback, the debtor intends to continue operations in order to make the best possible use of existing raw materials and determine whether financial and organizational requirements can be met for a restructuring plan application. Antero GmbH belongs to Apricum GmbH and recorded an accumulated loss of 854,000 euros with negative equity of 489,000 euros in the 2022 financial year. Around 600,000 euros in liabilities relate to profit participation rights.
