According to reports from Puck News and Semafor, Bob Iger and his wife, Willow Bay, are on the verge of investing in Angel City FC. The proposed investment by the Bay Iger Co. is separate from their roles – Iger as the CEO of the Walt Disney Co. and Bay serving as the dean of the USC Annenberg School. If this investment goes through, Iger and Bay would take over ownership of the team from Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, who is married to Serena Williams.
Angel City FC has attracted a number of notable figures from the entertainment, finance, and sports industries. Including Natalie Portman as one of its co-founding partners, with smaller investments from Williams, Billie Jean King, Jennifer Garner, Eva Longoria, and former U.S. national team players Mia Hamm, Shannon Boxx, and Julie Foudy.
