Mother embarks on new business venture following job loss

From Maternity Leave to a Thriving Cookie Business: Shaana Dean’s Story

Shaana Dean, a resident of Fort Pierce, was taken aback when she returned from maternity leave to find that her company had downsized. This life-changing event left her feeling uncertain about the future and led her to explore new passions. It wasn’t until she started surprising her loved ones with homemade cookies that she realized the potential for her talent.

Dean had always been passionate about baking, but it wasn’t until she started taking orders through her website and selling her delicious cookies at events in Port St. Lucie that she found a way to turn her love into a business venture. Through The Cookie House, she has been able to combine her passion for baking with caring for her young baby.

The cookie business has experienced rapid growth, with flavors like blueberry lemon and churro becoming customer favorites. Dean is grateful for the support of her community and the opportunity to share her love of baking with others. She finds fulfillment in creating beautiful treats that bring joy to people’s lives, even in unexpected circumstances.
