From Home Grown Star to Potential Broncos Backup: Meet Frank Crum, the Local OL Signed by the Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos have recently signed Frank Crum from the University of Wyoming as a college free agent, bringing another local player to their 90-man roster. Crum, who stands at 6-7 and weighs 315 pounds, played for the Cowboys from 2018 to 2023 and was a key presence in protecting quarterbacks.

Crum is from Laramie, Wyoming and chose to stay close to home and play for his hometown college after a successful high school career. Over his six seasons at Wyoming, he played in a total of 43 games and was one of the most experienced players on the Broncos’ current roster. He played an important role in helping two Cowboy running backs surpass 1,000 rushing yards in a season, including Xazavian Valladay in 2019 and 2021 and Titus Swen in 2022. In fact, Wyoming’s rushing offense was ranked No. 17 in the nation in 2020.

Despite being considered one of the top undrafted free agents this spring, Crum faces tough competition to secure a spot on the 53-man roster in 2024. The Broncos have invested heavily in veteran offensive linemen such as Mike McGlinchey and Ben Powers recently. However, if Crum performs well during training camp and preseason games, he could earn a backup role on the Denver offensive line.
