
From Boy to President: The Evolution of John F. Kennedy
On this day, 60 years ago, American President John F. Kennedy was assassinated while on a trip to Dallas. The Kennedy family is well-known for the tragedies that have befallen them. Jack’s sister Rosemary underwent a lobotomy at the age of 25, leaving her completely immobile and unable to speak. Kathleen, two years older than Rosemary, died in a plane crash in the French Alps at the age of 26. Older brother Joe died in a war plane during World War II. Their brother Robert was killed in an assassination attempt while campaigning for the presidential election in 1968. In addition to these losses, many of the Kennedys’ children also passed away.
