At around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, a fire engulfed the building that housed the Butler County Health Department and EMA office in Greenville, Alabama. Crews arrived at the scene on Airport Road and found the building fully ablaze. Despite their best efforts to put out the fire, it was declared a total loss.
Fortunately, no one was inside the building during the incident, and there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is still unknown, with authorities ruling out arson as a potential cause.
In response to the fire, the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) staff is currently working to secure a temporary location to continue providing health services to residents of Butler County. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to contact the Crenshaw County Health Department or nearby locations for any health-related needs. Information about all county health department locations can be found on the ADPH website.
