The Bills and Cardinals are set to square off in 75 days for the season opener.

Finding Inspiration in No. 75: A Tribute to Alex Boone and Arizona Cardinals’ Upcoming Season

As the NFL offseason comes to a close, we eagerly await the start of the Arizona Cardinals’ season. Training camp has been announced, giving fans something to look forward to in the next month. The Cardinals’ season opener against the Buffalo Bills on September 8 is just 75 days away.

Currently wearing No. 75 on the Cardinals’ roster is rookie offensive lineman Christian Jones, drafted in the fifth round out of Texas this year. Jones has yet to make an impact and faces tough competition to secure a spot on the roster this season.

No. 75 has been worn by notable players in the past, including Leonard Davis and Levi Brown, who were both long-time starters for the Cardinals. Alex Boone, who played one season for the Cardinals in 2017, was the last player to wear No. 75 and make an impact.

Boone played in 14 games, starting 13 at guard for the Cardinals in 2017. He had a successful career, with notable stints with the San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately for Boone, he passed away earlier this year at age 36 from complications related to COVID-19.

The countdown to kickoff will continue as we reflect on Boone’s life and career as well as his contributions to the Arizona Cardinals franchise.
