Fairmont State University’s Chelsea Collins Takes Home Generation Next: 40 Under 40 Award for Promoting Wellness and Mental Health

Chelsea Collins, the Director of Student Health at Fairmont State University, has been named a Generation Next: 40 Under 40 finalist for her outstanding work in promoting wellness and mental health in the university community. Collins was honored at an award ceremony held at the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center on June 19, where she was celebrated for her contributions to student health and her efforts to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention.

As part of her role at Fairmont State University, Collins has made significant improvements to the Student Health Center and has organized initiatives such as the Stomp Out the Stigma event and the Falcon Mental Health Awareness program. She has also been instrumental in organizing campus wellness fairs that promote health and well-being among students. Collins credits her success to the lessons taught by her parents and the support of her colleagues at Fairmont State.

In a statement, Collins expressed her gratitude for being recognized as a leader in West Virginia and highlighted her deep connection to the state.
