Ezekiel Elliott’s Possible Return to Dallas Cowboys: A Closer Look

According to a recent report by Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, the Dallas Cowboys are currently in talks with Ezekiel Elliott’s agent about a potential reunion. The departure of veteran running back Tony Pollard, who signed with the Titans in free agency, has opened up the possibility of Elliott returning to the team.

Ezekiel Elliott was drafted fourth overall in the 2016 NFL draft and spent seven seasons with the Cowboys before becoming a free agent in 2023. In 2019, he held out for a new contract and eventually signed a deal that kept him with the Cowboys through the 2022 season. After playing a year with the New England Patriots, Elliott is now looking for a new team to call home.

During his time with the Cowboys, Elliott was a standout player, earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors. His best season came in his rookie year when he rushed for 1,631 yards and scored 16 total touchdowns. Despite a decline in performance in recent years, with only one 1,000-yard season since 2019, Elliott’s potential return to the Cowboys is generating excitement among fans.
