Extensions for “Discounted Apartment” Lottery Drawing: An Opportunity for More Israelis to Access Subsidized Housing

The Ministry of Construction has announced that the deadline for registration for the next lottery drawing “Discounted Apartment” (“Dira ba-anaha”) has been extended until February 13. This gives those wishing to sign up to purchase one of the nearly 7,000 subsidized apartments in 16 localities in Israel an additional week to do so.

The current round of the lottery began on December 26 and to date, about 100 thousand people have signed up. A total of 72 projects with 6,816 apartments are being awarded across the country.

Two projects with 114 apartments are being played out in Eilat, nine projects with 931 apartments in Elad, eleven projects with 546 apartments in Ashkelon, one project with 63 apartments in Beit Dagan, six projects with 556 apartments in Bnei Aisha, one project for 46 apartments in Jerusalem, three projects for 187 apartments in Modiin and two projects for
