Our mission for today includes a range of observations using the ChemCam and Mastcam instruments to study the Murray formation. These investigations will provide insights into the texture and chemistry of the area. In addition, we have planned a small Mastcam mosaic to capture images of nearby cross-stratification and nodules. A small MAHLI mosaic of the target “Berg Aukas” will also be taken before we move on to our next location.
After our journey, we will take our standard post-drive imaging to give context and aid in targeting for future observations. On the second sol, we have included an untargeted science block in our plan. This block will involve an autonomously selected ChemCam target and a Mastcam observation to monitor the opacity of the atmosphere.
Overall, today’s plan is filled with various observations and activities aimed at enhancing our understanding of this region’s terrain and atmosphere. By completing these tasks, we hope to gather valuable data that will contribute to our overall mission objectives.
