At the upcoming 2024 APSA Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA, join us for a Comparative & Multi-Method Approaches workshop on Wednesday, September 4. Co-Leaders will guide early career researchers in exploring the application of mixed methods to political economy questions.
During this workshop, participants will learn how to utilize multiple methodologies to investigate key political economy issues such as redistribution, democratization, economic policy, unionization, and social policy. The goal is to provide a comprehensive understanding of variation in democratic policy and politics across different countries.
We encourage all participants who are using two or more research methods in their thesis to apply. While individual chapters may focus on a single method, participants should be prepared to discuss how their work fits into their broader dissertation. Research on any area within political economy and any geographic focus is welcome.
This workshop is just one of many annual sponsorships by APSA for in-person and virtual dissertation workshops. In-person events take place the Wednesday before the Annual Meeting, while virtual workshops occur over a three-week period in the summer. Each workshop includes presentations from six PhD candidates and is led by two faculty members who facilitate discussions. To participate, apply by May 19, 2024.
