Technical.ly is a media company that has been publishing annual reports for years. However, due to the pandemic, Technical.ly has had to undergo some changes and is now releasing its inaugural State of the Philadelphia Tech Economy Report.
This report will be available for free download, but requires users to share their name, email, and job title. Inside the report, there will be data analysis and independent research on Philadelphia’s tech economy at a national level. It will also include examples of Technical.ly’s journalism such as the Thriving series and profiles of individuals who embody the region through their RealLISTs.
The report aims to become a capstone to Technical.ly’s work each year and highlights the importance of technology as more than just an industry but also as a community ecosystem and economy. The terms used in the report like technology, startups, innovation are used interchangeably with phrases like community, ecosystem, and economy but each phrase has a subtly different meaning focusing on economic impact of research businesses workforce in emerging inventions like software.
