Expanding MetroHealth System’s Men’s Health Fair: Early Detection and Intervention through Free Health Screenings and Education

The MetroHealth System’s Men’s Health Fair is set to expand this year with two locations on Saturday. Offering free health screenings, education, and career resources, attendees can expect a wide range of health topics including cholesterol, diabetes, heart health and more. Last year’s fair revealed concerning statistics, with high percentages of attendees showing signs of health issues such as high cholesterol and blood sugar levels as well as abnormal PSA levels indicating an elevated risk of prostate cancer. Those identified with potential health concerns were able to connect with a MetroHealth provider for follow-up care.

Dr. Charles Modlin, a urologist and MetroHealth’s vice president and chief health equity officer, emphasized the importance of prioritizing health and recognizing that everyone deserves the opportunity for a long and healthy life. The Men’s Health Fair aims to make a positive impact on the lives of participants by providing early detection and intervention through screenings which ultimately saves lives.

The fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Alex B. Johnson Center at the Cuyahoga Community College Metropolitan Campus as well as at MetroHealth’s Cleveland Heights Medical Center. Registration is encouraged but walk-ins are welcome too, shuttle services will be available from various locations in Cleveland to make it more convenient for attendees to attend the event.
