Empowering Earth: Science on State Street Festival Takes a Closer Look at Environmental Justice and Sustainability

Science on State Street is an annual science festival hosted by Framingham State University at the Christa McAuliffe Center in collaboration with the MetroWest STEM Education Network. This free community event, open to all ages, focuses on themes related to planet Earth and showcases how science, technology, engineering, and math support environmental justice, renewable energy, and sustainability efforts.

Science on State Street will take place on Saturday, April 27 from Noon to 3 p.m. at the McAuliffe Center and O’Connor Hall parking lot. Attendees can explore various exhibits and activities that highlight the intersection of science and environmental issues.

Exhibitors at this year’s event include MIT Lincoln Labs offering a table on building a lightsaber, Boston Scientific with an interactive human body exhibition, MathWorks demonstrating the Power of AI, and the U.S. Army DEVCOM Soldier Center providing information on STEM professionals’ contributions to soldier protection. There will be additional booths and activities for visitors to enjoy.

Last year’s Science on State Street was a success, and this year’s event promises to be even more engaging and informative for the community. For more information and a list of exhibitors visit https://cm-center.org/2024exhibitors
