Dunkirk School Advisory Team Announces New Partnership | News, Sports, Jobs

Dunkirk City Schools have nearly 2,000 students enrolled, making it the second-largest district in Chautauqua County. In recent years, the administration has made it a priority to engage more with the community and this effort is continuing with the formation of an advisory team. The first meeting of the advisory team is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 28 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Jamestown Community College north county campus location. The meeting will include a light dinner and everyone is welcome to attend.

According to Jennifer Westerholt, the district communications director, this is not seen as supplemental work but rather as critical work that needs to be integrated into everything the district is doing. The focus of the advisory team is on building relationships and partnering with family members, caregivers, and community members to support student growth and learning. By working together, the district hopes to create a more supportive environment for its students and improve overall outcomes.
