Parents and guardians are encouraged to sign up now for the Bend Park and Recreation District’s youth fall sports programs, which are set to begin in the coming months. With summer just starting, it’s important to be aware of the registration deadlines that are quickly approaching.

The fall season is one of the busiest for youth sports activities in Bend, with soccer and flag football setting participation records almost every year. To ensure that children can enjoy great autumn weekends, parents and guardians need to be mindful of the registration deadlines in July and August.

Registration deadlines for fall youth sport programs include youth soccer (Grades 1st-8th) on July 8 or until full, kindergarten soccer on July 8 or until full, flag football (Grades 1st-8th) on July 29 or until full, and middle school tennis on August 13 or until full. These sport programs aim to provide participation and skill-building opportunities in a fun, recreational environment while also offering scholarships for those who need them.

Volunteer coaches play an essential role in youth sports leagues by providing support with program logistics, coaching, and mentoring young athletes. All volunteer coaches must complete an application, background check, concussion training, enjoy working with youth, and create a positive, encouraging recreational environment for players.
