Florida sheriff’s office investigates sex abuse allegations against Tigers broadcaster Craig Monroe, leading to him being pulled off the air.

Detroit Tigers Television Analyst Craig Monroe Under Investigation for Sexual Abuse Allegations from Childhood

The Detroit Tigers television analyst Craig Monroe is currently under investigation by the Charlotte County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office following allegations of sexual abuse made by a woman on social media. The woman claims that she was abused by Monroe when she was a 12-year-old child, dating back to his days as a minor league player. The abuse is said to have begun when Monroe lived with her family during his time in the minors, a common practice for players in the lower levels of the league.

The woman, now 35, originally made the allegations on social media before deleting the post and later reposting them recently. She also spoke with WJBK-TV, sharing disturbing details about the alleged abuse. Despite this, Bally Sports Detroit has not released any official statement regarding these allegations or Monroe’s absence from the broadcast booth since June 9th.

Through his attorney, Monroe has denied these allegations and plans to cooperate with law enforcement as they continue their investigation into these claims. It is worth noting that Monroe played in the majors from 2001-09 with multiple organizations including the Tigers, Texas Rangers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins.
