Decade of Waiting: Brigitte Macron’s Marriage to French President Despite Age Difference

In a recent interview with Paris Match, French First Lady Brigitte Macron revealed that she waited ten years to marry her husband, Emmanuel Macron. She did this in order to avoid causing any harm to her children, who were around the same age as him at the time.

Brigitte and Emmanuel first started dating when he was 15 and she was his drama teacher. Despite initial resistance from his parents and her concerns about age differences, they continued their relationship. The couple eventually married in 2007 after she divorced her ex-husband in 2006.

Their relationship began when Brigitte was 40 years old and Emmanuel was a student in her drama class in Amiens, France. She spoke about the challenges she faced in her relationship with her 45-year-old husband, expressing concern for her children and making sure they were on the right path before marrying him.

Brigitte and Emmanuel have two children together, including their son Jules. Following their divorce from their respective spouses, they were able to marry each other in 2007 and have been happily together ever since.
