On May 8, a FedEx cargo plane experienced an emergency landing at Istanbul airport without its front landing gear. The Boeing 767 flying in from Paris-Charles de Gaulle alerted the control tower about the issue with the nose gear not deploying. As a result, rescue and firefighting teams were immediately on alert and positioned themselves on the runway in preparation.
Despite this risky maneuver, there were no casualties. Images shared on social media showed the Boeing placing its rear wheels on the tarmac before scraping the ground with its nose during the landing. Emergency trucks quickly entered the runway to spray the plane with firefighting foam, and the runway was temporarily closed to air traffic. This incident is part of a series of plane damages involving Boeing aircraft, with investigations currently underway causing unrest within the group.
