Kings quietly looking to sign DeRozan in free agency

Could DeMar DeRozan be Sacramento Kings’ Ticket to the Playoffs?

According to ESPN’s Zach Lowe, the Sacramento Kings are emerging as a potential landing spot for guard DeMar DeRozan during NBA free agency. The Kings have been described as a “sneak DeRozan team” that could make a move to acquire the 34-year-old six-time NBA All-Star.

If the Kings were to sign DeRozan, it would provide a significant offensive boost to the team and help alleviate some of the scoring load on players like Domantas Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox. However, Sacramento isn’t the only California team vying for DeRozan’s services, as the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat are also in contention.

The Kings have struggled to compete with the top teams in the Western Conference and have not won a playoff series since the 2003-2004 NBA season. Adding a talented player like DeRozan could be a game-changer for Sacramento and help elevate the team to a new level of competitiveness. It remains to be seen if the Kings will be able to secure DeRozan’s signature in free agency, but it’s clear that they are making a push to bring him on board.
