Latter & Blum, a Louisiana real estate firm, completes sale transaction

Compass Real Estate Acquires Latter & Blum: Strengthening Its Presence in the Gulf Coast Region

Compass Real Estate, the largest independent real estate brokerage in the United States, has recently acquired Latter & Blum, a Louisiana-based real estate brokerage company. Latter & Blum, headquartered in New Orleans with offices across Louisiana, was confirmed to have been sold by Lori McCarthy, managing broker for its Acadiana offices. The two companies are planning to operate as a co-brand initially, with Latter & Blum eventually transitioning to the Compass name.

Latter & Blum boasts 3,100 agents working in 32 offices across four states. The acquisition would significantly increase Compass’ agent count, which stood at nearly 15,000 late last year. This growth is expected to continue if all agents from Latter & Blum remain with the company. McCarthy expressed enthusiasm about the partnership and shared that she is excited to join a company known for its excellence and shares Latter & Blum’s core values of community, culture, and professionalism.

This acquisition signifies a significant move for both companies in the real estate market. It positions Compass as a dominant player with a strong presence in the Gulf Coast region. With this acquisition, Compass aims to expand its presence along the Gulf Coast and become a major force in the real estate industry in that region.
