Winston Watkins Jr. may reconsider return to Buffs despite decommitting from Colorado

Colorado Buffaloes Land Highly Rated Wide Receiver Commitment from Deion Sanders: Can They Keep him?

Following his appointment as head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, Deion Sanders secured a commitment from highly rated class of 2025 wide receiver Winston Watkins Jr. Although Watkins had decommitted in November, Colorado was still in the running for his services. Despite competition from college football powerhouses such as the Alabama Crimson Tide, Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, Florida Gators, Texas Longhorns, and Penn State Nittany Lions, Colorado remained a contender for Watkins’ commitment.

Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 172 pounds, Winston Watkins Jr. is known for his explosiveness on offense and ability to work effectively from the slot position. His advanced route running skills and elusiveness when avoiding defenders make him a valuable addition to any team’s lineup. With his speed, Watkins is able to outrun opponents when given open space on the field.

As the competition for his services intensifies, it remains to be seen whether Colorado will ultimately secure Watkins’ commitment. However, his inclusion in their top 16 choices is a positive sign that they are still in contention for his services.
