Colchester United’s Double Signed Duo: Goodliffe and Gordon Join the Club in Summer Transfer Window

The English football club, Colchester United, has added two more players to its roster this summer, bringing the total to four new signings. In just 30 minutes, the team signed defender Ben Goodliffe and striker John-Kymani Gordon.

Goodliffe, 25 years old, joins Colchester after spending five seasons with Sutton United. He was a key player in their promotion to the Football League in 2021. Leaving Sutton after their relegation to the National League, Goodliffe is excited about the opportunity to play for a bigger club like Colchester. He has signed a two-year contract with the team and is eager to make an impact on both ends of the field.

Gordon, 21 years old, also signs a two-year deal with Colchester after leaving Premier League club Crystal Palace. He was on loan at Carlisle when they won promotion from League Two in 2023 and impressed as a talented young player. Gordon brings pace and end product to the team and will add an edge that will benefit Colchester’s offense.

Colchester boss Danny Cowley expressed his excitement about the new signings, particularly praising Goodliffe for his love for the game and commitment to improvement. He believes that Goodliffe’s presence on defense will make a positive impact on both sides of the field. Cowley also spoke highly of Gordon’s ability to carry the ball and score goals. He sees him as an exciting addition to the team that will bring athleticism and energy to Colchester’s attack.

With these new signings joining goalkeeper Matt Macey and winger Harry Anderson in recent additions to the squad, Colchester is looking forward to a successful season ahead.
