Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese was overcome with emotion on Tuesday night after securing her first career All-Star nod. Through tears, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity and credited her hard work and belief in herself for getting her to this point.

Joining Reese on Team WNBA in the upcoming All-Star game will be teammates Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, Dearica Hamby, and Arika Ogunbowale. Reese finished fifth in the fan voting with over 380,000 votes, while Clark led with more than 700,000. Despite Clark receiving more attention, Reese’s impressive campaign is shaping up to make the Rookie of the Year race a close one.

Reese’s performance in the win over the Atlanta Dream was nothing short of remarkable. She contributed 12 points and 19 rebounds, marking her 11th consecutive game with a double-double. This achievement set a new WNBA record and showcased her incredible talent as a professional player. With an average of 13.3 points and 11.4 rebounds per game, Reese’s impact on the court has been undeniable since joining the league just over a month ago.

While both players are expected to continue their strong performances throughout the season, at least one weekend they will put their rivalry aside and team up in Phoenix for the All-Star game. The recognition of being an All-Star is well deserved for Reese who has had an incredible start to her WNBA career and highlights her potential for future success in this league.
