Malmo secures the signing of Celtic winger Haksabanovic

Celtic Winger Sead Haksabanovic Signs Four-Year Deal with Swedish Champions Malmo

25-year-old Celtic winger Sead Haksabanovic, who has scored once in 33 matches for Montenegro, has signed a four-year deal with Swedish champions Malmo. The Sweden-born Montenegro midfielder had been on loan at Stoke City for the duration of last season after falling out of favor following the return of Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.

Haksabanovic had joined Celtic from Rubin Kazan for a reported £2.5m fee in August 2022, but his contract with the Russian club had been suspended after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and he spent three months on loan at Djurgardens in Sweden before being signed by Ange Postecoglou. He moved to West Ham United in 2017 and spent most of his time there on loan to Norrkoping and Spanish club Malaga before joining the Swedish club permanently.

Malmo has announced that Haksabanovic will wear number 29 and could make his debut in the home match against his former club Halmstads on 7 July. Born in Hyltebruk in the south of Sweden, he made his debut aged 15 for nearby Halmstads.
