Da Vinci Announces Opening Date for New Science Center in Allentown

Bringing Science to Life: The Da Vinci Science Center Opens in Allentown

The Da Vinci Science Center, a long-awaited addition to the Lehigh Valley, is set to open its doors at the PPL Pavilion in downtown Allentown. Replacing the current facility on Cedar Crest College’s campus, this state-of-the-art 67,000 square-foot science education facility will offer visitors an exciting array of new exhibits.

The first exhibit, Dinos Alive, will feature 30 life-sized animated dinosaurs, providing visitors with an immersive experience from turkey-sized Velociraptors to the mighty T-rex. This exhibit will spark curiosity and provide a glimpse into the world of prehistoric creatures.

In addition to the exhibit galleries, the Da Vinci Science Center at PPL Pavilion will offer amenities such as fully equipped classrooms, cutting-edge laboratories, and interactive workshops to spark creativity. There will also be a rooftop terrace available for private events, adding to the overall visitor experience.

Lin Erickson, executive director and CEO of the center, said that their vision for a world-class science center would not have come to fruition without strong support from everyone in the Lehigh Valley and beyond. “We are excited to bring science to life and lives to science through our unique experiences inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s insatiable curiosity.”

Visitors can look forward to exploring the inner workings of the human body in the LVHN My Body exhibit and up-close encounters with North American River Otters in the Pocono Ravine. The center aims to immerse visitors in unique experiences that inspire wonder and curiosity about science and technology.

Come explore, learn, and discover with us at this premier science center in the Lehigh Valley. The Da Vinci Science Center at PPL Pavilion is set to open on May 22 and promises an unforgettable experience for all ages.
