Breaking Records and Making History: Meet the Remarkable 16-Year-Old Sprinter Heading to Paris Olympics
Sixteen-year-old Quincy Wilson has been selected to represent the United States in the 4×400 relay team at the upcoming Paris Olympics. The news was announced by his coach, Joe Lee, after Wilson broke a 42-year-old under-18 world record during the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials.
Despite just finishing his sophomore year of high school, Wilson ran times under 45 seconds in three consecutive races, earning him a spot in the relay pool. His impressive performances caught the attention of sports icons like Deion Sanders and Michael Johnson, as well as an invitation to a Washington Commanders game with Magic Johnson.
In addition to his athletic achievements, Wilson has already secured a sponsorship deal with New Balance and signed with WME Sports, the agency that represents Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. This experience in Paris will serve as valuable preparation for what could be a long and successful career in track and field for the talented young athlete.
