Bob’s Stores Shuts Down Six Massachusetts Locations, Concluding 70-Year Legacy in Retail Industry
Bob’s Stores, a discount retail chain that has been serving communities for over 70 years, announced the closure of all its stores, including the six locations in Massachusetts. The closure will take place on July 14, 2024. Company President Dave Barton cited financial struggles as the reason for the decision to liquidate the physical stores.
In a statement, Barton expressed gratitude to the local communities, customers, employees, vendors, and suppliers for their support over the years. The closure marks the end of an era for Bob’s Stores. A going-out-of-business sale began on June 28, offering discounts of 30% to 70% off on items such as workwear, footwear, team wear, casual clothing, and certain furniture and equipment products.
Customers can use store credit and Bob’s Stores gift cards until the last day of operation on July 14th but returns will not be accepted at closing stores. The Massachusetts locations that are closing include Attleboro, Fitchburg, Holyoke
