A new exhibit at the Catawba Science Center will offer visitors an immersive experience into the wonders of outer space. On July 10, “Expanding Horizons: The Solar System & Beyond” will be unveiled in the Hall of Astronomy, located near the Millholland Planetarium. This permanent exhibit invites patrons to delve deeper into the mysteries of our solar system and beyond.
One of the key features of this exhibit is a Mars pod that allows visitors to simulate what it would be like to live on the red planet. The pod provides a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities of space exploration. Additionally, a new planetarium show titled “Destination Mars” will be narrated by former NASA astronaut Mae Jemison, adding an extra layer of excitement and knowledge to the exhibit.
