On Wednesday, the Pentagon announced that it had approved a new $1 billion military aid package for Ukraine’s Armed Forces. This announcement came just minutes after President Joe Biden signed off on a multimillion-dollar aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. The new aid package includes air defense missiles, artillery shells, armored vehicles, anti-tank weapons, and ammunition to help Ukraine strengthen its defensive capabilities and protect against Russian attacks.
Bipartisan support from Congress was instrumental in securing this funding for Ukraine. The United States is committed to providing ongoing security assistance to Ukraine and its allies to combat Russian aggression. President Biden signed the bill on Wednesday, which allocates a total of 90 billion euros in military aid, with the majority going to Ukraine (57 billion euros), followed by Israel (24 billion euros) and Taiwan (7.5 billion euros). This aid package was approved by the United States Senate after months of negotiations within the Republican party.
