BayCare Health System Announces New $548 Million Hospital in Manatee County: Serving Health Needs for Southern Pinellas County Residents

BayCare Health System has announced plans to build a new $548 million hospital in Manatee County. The 154-bed facility will be located on Moccasin Wallow Road, just north of the I-75 and I-275 intersection. This strategic location will make the hospital easily accessible to residents in southern Pinellas County as well.

The new BayCare Hospital Manatee will offer a range of services including an emergency room, orthopedic and specialty surgery, urology, gastroenterology, cardiology, imaging, obstetrics, and neonatology. Additionally, there will be a 45,000-square-foot building housing outpatient services and physician offices. Construction is set to begin in October.

Stephanie Conners, BayCare’s president and CEO, expressed excitement about serving the community’s health needs in Manatee County. This hospital will be BayCare’s 17th facility and the first nonprofit-owned hospital in the area.

The new hospital will be a significant addition to the healthcare landscape in Manatee County
