85% of Spaniards Keep Outdated Technology: New Study Reveals Trend Toward Hoarding Devices”.

A new study on the usage and consumption of technology in 2024 has revealed that a staggering 85% of Spaniards keep at least one device they no longer use, with smartphones being the most common among them. The favorite ‘relic’ among Spaniards is the old mobile phone, with 67% admitting to keeping one at home even though they use a newer model.

Despite this inclination to hold onto these devices, many people are considering parting ways with them for various reasons such as economic benefits from selling them or freeing up space at home. However, some individuals have admitted to keeping multiple outdated technological products due to caution for potential future use or nostalgia.

The study was conducted by the technology rental service Grover, shedding light on the habits of Spaniards when it comes to keeping obsolete technology at home. It revealed that almost three-quarters of the population store multiple outdated technological products, with smartphones being the most common among them. Despite this trend towards hoarding old devices, many individuals are starting to realize that it may be time to let go and upgrade their tech collection.
