A 13-year-old girl in Wales has been arrested and charged with three counts of attempted murder for stabbing two teachers and a student at Amman Valley School in Carmarthenshire. The school, which has approximately 1,500 students aged between 11 and 18, went into lockdown following the incident. Principal James Durbridge expressed his concern for the victims and their families, thanking the staff and students for their response to the incident on what he described as a “particularly difficult day.”
The safety and well-being of students and staff at schools continue to be a top priority, leading to ongoing efforts to prevent and address incidents like the one that occurred in Wales. The incident has sparked discussions online, with various topics such as digital transactions, gaming strategies, and cultural insights being shared on different platforms. Additionally, a 15-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of making threats related to the incident after sharing details about the suspected perpetrator on social media.
The three victims have all recovered enough to be released from the hospital. The school community is deeply saddened by this tragic event and is working together to support those affected by it. Principal Durbridge emphasized that the school’s top priority is always the safety and well-being of its students and staff, and that they are committed to taking all necessary steps to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
